AYRUS Support
Setup, operation, and maintenance for the portable AYRUS line — AYRUS PRO and AYRUS SCOUT, including timer options and the 5-gallon cart. Quick reference below; always follow your unit's owner's manual.
Setup in Five Steps
- Unbox and place AYRUS on a stable surface, or mount it (wall-mounting is optional).
- Mix HOCl solution to 294 PPM (see the Mixing & Maintenance guide) and fill the onboard reservoir. For longer runs, connect an external tank or use the 5-gallon cart.
- Power on. AYRUS PRO: set your timer option (see below). AYRUS SCOUT: runs a fixed cycle with auto shut-off.
- Start the cycle, leave the room to treat, and let the unit shut itself off.
- After the cycle, the mist evaporates with no residue — no wipe-down or rinse required.
Timer Options (AYRUS PRO)
Standard AYRUS ships without a timer. AYRUS SCOUT uses a fixed cycle with auto shut-off. AYRUS PRO supports add-on timers — all waterproof:
- Countdown Timer — up to 999-minute capability; shuts AYRUS off when the timer reaches zero. Simple on/off button, integrated flush install.
- Programmable Timer — 7-day programmability with an internal battery to save programs; integrated flush install.
- External Programmable Timer — 7-day programmability, internal battery, external unit with two inputs.
Keep AYRUS Running Like New
Descale every 6 months
Mix one descaler packet with one gallon of water, run it through the unit, let it sit 30–45 minutes, then flush. More often in hard-water areas.
Replace the coin yearly
The atomizing coin is a wear part on AYRUS. Replace it about once per year (sooner if output drops after descaling) with a GEIA Coin Replacement Pack.
Refer to the product label for the EPA-approved shelf life of mixed solution.

AYRUS FAQ
Confirm the reservoir has solution and it was mixed correctly, check that the unit is powered and the cycle started, then descale (mineral buildup is the most common cause). If output is still low after descaling, replace the atomizing coin. For specific indicator lights or error codes, see the owner's manual or call 855-687-4342.
AYRUS PRO offers higher output (5.0 L/hr) and programmable timer options. AYRUS SCOUT runs a fixed cycle with auto shut-off (3.0 L/hr) and is the cost-effective companion. Both are portable and external-tank compatible.
Yes — connect an external HOCl tank, or use the AYRUS 5-gallon cart. The cart can also be upgraded with an onboard battery for cord-free operation. Talk to your distributor about the right setup.
HOCl at GEIA working concentration is near-neutral and residue-free, and many facilities run AYRUS in occupied spaces. Follow your facility's SOP and the tablet label directions for your application.
